IRI JI IBEKU, ,!,.WHY THE WEAPONS?

When we were children, we often envied those celebrating the Ibeku new yam festival (Iri ji Ibeku) my dad would make sure that any day that the new yam festival is fixed there would be enough cocoa seed for us to attend to.This was a ploy to make sure that we don't take part in the festival. Also considering that we were members of Faith Tabernacle that forbids any traditional ceremony, we dare not get closer to the celebrants. This was likely the reason why we peep through the gate anytime the celebrants were moving round the village with their very melodious songs, it was really fun seeing them sing around with their visitors most of them carrying big slices of yam, eating them in public. Those where the fun that brought visitors and Ibeku people living abroad to the festival. I could not remember seeing children or even elders brandishing machetes and other dangerous weapons like we experience today. Am sure that if they had tried it then, we wouldn't have seen the number and calibre of visitors we were having then. Sincerely the joy of this festival is the presence of these visitors.  What has gone wrong? Why have we become so lawless? Why are our leaders and elders turning blind eyes to this dangerous trend that is fast exterminating this once revered festival? Why would the use of dangerous weapons be a mark of our festival? It's very clear that the alcoholic intakes on the festival days are always on the increase, so why carry these weapons even when you are drunk. Many have lost their lives, many more injured, cars smashed and properties wasted because of this uncontrollable act.
I humbly call on the Eze's, community and village leaders to rise up to their responsibility to put a stop to this social stigma that is fast defining us as a people.
Many people are still ready to celebrate with us as there is nothing demonic or diabolic about this festival but it is our attitude that scares the people away.

Buhari, another Abacha in the making

I have personally been making frantic effort at reading President Buhari's body language on the future of this country. I can only conclude that he has allowed sentiments to override his sense of reasoning. The calibre of persons and the recklessness at which they are appointed into the inner caucus of President Buhari's administration leaves more to be desired. Buhari is simply telling everybody to go to hell if his decisions are not okay with you. Buhari made everyone us know before and during his election that he was above the law so why must it be surprising that he is living that way after his election. President Buhari's latest appointments has sent some fears to people like us for several reasons,1 he seems to be equipping the North as against any other region,2 he looks like one on a revenge mission, 3 he seems to be getting the north ready for the worst in case of any eventuality etc. My question is, what is Suleiman Kawu doing in the cabinet of Mr president? This was a man who publicly disgraced us and now he is the Senior special adviser to Mr president on national assembly matters. From my simple observation, the worst any tribe or region will do now is to dare this man for he will use every force within his reach legally or illegally, constitutionally or unconstitutionally to subdue them.
The simple truth
is that he shouldn't think so highly of himself before we have a repeat of another Abacha.  Buhari has refused to mention anything about his campaign promises that deceived Nigerians into voting him in, instead he is busy inflicting more pains to the average Nigerian.
My advice is, if the north that is ably led by Mr president wants to split this nation, it must not end in war or violence, referendum is still the best solution these days,

BUHARI'S APPOINTMENTS SAME WITH APGA'S TRIBUNAL ANALYSIS

I have been expecting my APGA friends to give me the tribunal updates today but all to no avail,  please why the silence in that camp that has been up and doing for a while now, even my very good friend Onyechimereze Emeruwa has been uncomfortably silent. Are they bereaved?  I just want to believe that all is well with them. On the second thought, I still think that De Buhari's danger plan has diverted their attention. In case they have forgotten, their uncontrollable loyalist are impatiently waiting for that their lopsided analysis which is not in any way different from Buhari's appointment. Let's I forget there was a particular ruling that was given today, on whose favor was it? Well for those unbiased friends of mine who are like Jonathan's appointments please you can go to my friends wall Nnaji Obed Asiegbu to read a comprehensive update of today's tribunal. Life is simply good with the realists and not the dreaming idealists. When a grasshopper is burning it will assume that it is producing oil.

I heard that these people are asking for an extension, onye ugwo onwa ya ezughiri o bu overtime ga ezuru ya? When I was at Uniport, I scored 69 in one of my courses which was a "B", and I needed just 1 mark to make an "A", I went to beg my Prof for that 1 mark, he stood up from his seat looked all over his office and even under his table, I didn't know what he was doing, after a little while, he came back to me and said "my friend as you can see, I have searched the whole place even under my table looking for that one mark you are asking for but I can't find it, if you see it, bring it and I will a put it for you" I left without any more word. My questions to my APGA friends asking for an extension is what have they done with the one given to them? Where do they want us to get that extension they are asking for?
If Abians mistakingly see Otti in the governorship seat of Abia state they will cry more than Nigerians are crying under Buhari's because APGA's analysis is like Buhari's appointments.

Abia at 24, we have done well

24 years ago precisely on the 27 of august 1991, I was at Azikiwe Rd Umuahia when the news of the creation of Abia state filtered into the air. Everyone was happy and expectant on the creation of our dear state which to most of us then was long overdue . God has blessed the state with Many leaders, rulers and administrators who has come and gone leaving their developmental legacies. The state have had its own share of challenges, but in all these things the Lord God delivered them from all. Let's concentrate on the things we now have hoping that the ones we don't have will surely come by.
I wish to use this opportunity to congratulate all Abians on the journey so far, we have not faired badly as a state, we may not have achieved our desired aim but the truth is that we have not been stagnant. One by one all the leaders who have governed this state have contributed their quota in the development of today's Abia state. To our leaders, we pray that God almighty will continue to guide you all for sustaining the Abia state we have today and it is our desire to give the up coming generation the Abia state of their dreams. As we celebrate, let's not forget the biblical injunction urging us to pray for our leaders because leadership is an honor no man gives to himself. Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, the governor of our dear Abia state needs our collective prayers, for in his success lies the success of Abians and it's residents.
One pledge I will want all Abians to make is that THE LABOURS OF OUR HEROES PAST SHALL NEVER BE IN VAIN.

Happy birthday to God's general

I have always looked forward to this day of every year, a day I will be privileged to celebrate a man sent from God whose name is Pastor Chika. It's been prettily difficult for me to put down this write up because I was trying to put some word together that can convey my feelings, it just dawned on me that I may wait till eternity for you are an institution.
Sir you are  not just my pastor, but my mentor, coach and teacher, I've always wondered why you have always had so much confidence on me even when am in doubt. Thank you sir for answering the call of reconciling men unto God and restoring hope to the hopeless. Sir, as you celebrate your birthday today, no doubt the host of heavens are rejoicing with you because you are a blessing not just to me, my family, Christ embassy Umuahia or international but to humanity in general. Congratulations sir and May the blessings of God which is already evident in you life and family continue to dwell in you even in abundance in Jesus name Amen. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY GENERAL.

President Buhari please Sir probe yourself first

I have seriously been imagining what gives President Buhari the confidence to believe that he can single out the civilian government of Nigeria for probe. I just dont want to believe that someone is trying to make a fool of the rest of us. It is very evident that the worst days of Nigeria were the military era of this country of which president Buhari was part of it. All the problems of this nation can comfortably be traced to this military era and someone who inflicted such an unforgettable injury  on us has the moral justification to look us in the face to accuse the civilian or the PDP of damaging this country. I know it was a mistake which many people have started realising that we voted you and your party into power but please don't aggravate our anger by your actions. If you want to probe, start from the military era of which you are a principal actor. All these bruhaha about probe is beginning to get on our nerves.  You are busy selecting the things you don't have the constitutional right to select leaving the ones you have the rights maybe for the gods. You are selecting judges for the judiciary and leaders for the legislature leaving your ministers for the deity. All you want is a system that will do your bidding instead of of our constitutional bidding. Why would a president of a country ask the lawyers not to represent her citizens in court? From my little legal knowledge, no one is declared guilty until proven by a competent court of law. If Mr president wants to fight corruption which I support totally, he should do the needful by consulting wide on the best approach and not insulting our Intergrity by appointing judges to judge his perceived corrupt people and telling the lawyers not to defend them in court.
While we are believing that Mr president will have a rethink, we leave the matter with the judiciary who am sure are very voracious now in money matters because of their recent strike which affected most of the private practitioners.
When we did not see Mr president's certificate prior to the election which was our constitutional preserve, we still allowed lawyers to defend him in court. God bless Mr president, God bless Nigeria, God bless Nigerians.

What a man can do, a woman can do even............

There is an igbo adage that says that when a child is given what seems bigger than him/her, he/she will ask to whom he/she is asked to give it to. It is quite unfortunate that most people used the "change" slogan to find themselves in power, most of the winners of our last election never believed they could be there. The electorates just decided to go against any incumbent, the result of such actions has metamorphosed into shameful exhibition of disgraceful attitudes. How can a member representing a people by name dishonorable Lilian Igwe get to the extent of constituting public nuisance by drinking herself to stupor? Some sins are pardonable but I think this is an exception, if this act was done by an executive officer, it would have had a human face, but for a representative? No way. From her uncontrollable lust for alçohol, one will be quick to conclude that she must be one of those club girls pick up by one of those king makers who decided to settle her with a house ticket. I simply request that the people of Ivo of Ebonyi state who she is representing should establish a process of recall immediately to bring sanity to our governance.
This has again showed how we misplace our priorities, I have always thought that the act of legislation should be an exclusive preserve of th well experienced people in our society, it should not be a starting point of one's political carrier. As long as we allow the "men" to man the executive positions and the "boy" man our legislature, we will keep having this scene.

PRINCE DAVID, Bsc economics Abia state university Congratulations

Few years ago, just very recently we accompanied his father ie my eldest brother to Obowu in IMO State to marry his mother, before we could say jack,,a son was born. His growing up left no one in doubt that he was going to be the best among his peers. I couldn't have forgotten his days in nursery and primary school as its still very very fresh in my memory. I delight in watching him crack jokes with his dad, it's always a fun atmosphere. I have never seen his fathers cold him for he seems to know all that is expected of him at every point in time. He is the beloved of all owning to his high level of loyalty, he was always worried that I refused to see him as a big boy. I call him PP MY BOY, Prince David as he was named will never miss to tickle my fancy. This little boy of yesterday has just dropped his pen at ABSU, he is now a graduate of economics. PP, I pray that the same God that has guided, provided and maintained you all these years will continue to be with you all the days of your life in Jesus name Amen. To your parents, De Uche and the one in a million wife Tina who I call No1,You will always experience divine provision all the days of your life, what seems impossible in the eyes of others will be made easy for you as you people are products of grace.
PP MY BOY, once more I say a very big congratulations for making our family and your generation proud.
I wish to sound this warning that I don't want to see any girl by his side yet as he still remains my small boy, ogologo abughi na nwam etola.

Otti beware of Nweke

I have often wondered the reason for the desperation in the camp of the APGA, some parasitic beings who are masquerading themselves as friends and allies of Dr Otti have surly seen a very profitable venture to milk to death. It's very obvious that they are giving him the impression that they are the only friends he has. The truth is that Dr Alex Otti is one Abian that Abians will forever be proud of owning to his numerous achievements in his area of comparative advantage both locally, nationally and internationally. That he lost in the last election never in anyway translated to hate or rejection by Abians but it simply meant that Abians had a better choice. The fact that there must be a winner in a contest produced Okezie Victor Ikpeazu as the governor of Abia state. Romans 9 vs 15 said, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy and have compassion on whom I will have compassion, it's never by power nor by might, not even by qualification but by God's grace. God does not always use the best because he looks at the heart.
I wish to advise our dear Dr Alex Otti to sheath his sword and allow peace to reign, let him avoid or distance himself from the likes of Ahamdi Nweke who will only succeed in ridiculing his well built  personality.
Nweke should also be made to understand that it does not necessarily take being a lawyer to succeed in life, he must not impersonate to be relevant.
The Nigeria judicial service should investigate Nweke's claim of being a lawyer, if he is found impersonating, he should be made to face the wrath of the law. Nweke should be used as an example to many miscreants who disgrace Nigeria and Abians all over the world.
Like I said before, it is God that makes kings, He has his reason for sending Dr Victor Okezie Ikpeazu to us amongst many who were richer, more experienced and more connected. Let's give peace a chance as trouble is an ill wind that blows nobody any good

PMB SENDS OBJ ON A SUICIDE MISSION TO GUINEA

I think PMB is becoming swifter than I expected, he is really showing the sign of readiness in fighting corruption, crime and recovering our stolen resources. His appointment of OBJ is a clear indication that really he is tactical. Having tried many ways to avoid probing OBJ's administration without success,  he has now deviced a way of quietly seeking for his neck on the rope. I wonder why it should be a cheering news that a man was sent to go and attempt suicide. I sincerely applaud PMB for this move, whoever advised him on this tactics deserves a national award. Everybody must not be sent to prison, some will be sent to war fronts, some will be asked to make it look like suicide while others may simply disappear, my Warri friend said "all join" I sincerely wish to use this medium to apologise to PMB for referring to him as rigid during the last campaign, for  him to have known that a nation with the likes of OBJ as it's national leader is in trouble and to have also known that court may not do the work of national cleansing properly shows he is not just dynamic but highly dynamic. May he continue to be endowed with such wisdom all the days of his administration. I even see IBB being sent to dialogue with ISIS, all na appointment. If I were one of OBJ'S children, I would have insisted that he tells us the lawyer he handed over his will before embarking on this self destructive suicidal mission. PMB sir, please look for all those that have messed this country up, who believe they can buy any court let alone lawyers with our stolen resources and give them such appointment without any option of refusal. Nigeria must be good again.

This Clickbank is MAD

How terribly irritating it gets whenever you try to open account with Clickbank, Have you ever tried to open account with clickbank as a Nigerian without cutting corners? You will surely face the embarrassment of your life that is if you are as patriotic as i am to Nigeria. Once you put Nigeria as your country, the system bounces back at you, telling you to put the name of a valid country. Why would you be asked to put the name of a valid country when you put Nigeria as your country? Is the country Nigeria not valid in the committee of nations? I think little things like this are the areas our government should look into to avoid the disgrace and embarrassment Nigerians face from the west and even online. Am just wondering what will be the scorecard of Ojo Maduekwe and Abike Dabri.

OUR WORKERS ARE DYING

I have painstakingly tried to analyze this issue of none payment of salaries ravaging our nation at the present. I cant help but feel a little pity for a country like ours at a time like this. I have always heard this conventional saying that government will always have its way in issues of this nature but with the realities on ground, this might be an exception. For reasons best known to our government, they have not paid salaries for a while now leading to lots of unforeseen circumstances, Debts owed to Nigerian workers are like the promises made to a deity,it must always hunt you for fulfillment, they must be paid no matter how long it takes. So why not even borrow to pay if sincerely our savings and sources have been depleted so as to engage the workers and also have the moral justification to insist they come to work? You don't beat a child and insist the child should not cry.  Come to think of it,how can a country like Nigeria not be able to pay her workers when many Nigerians are flaunting their wealth all over the world? Anyway, its my utmost prayer that President Buhari will fish out anyone that has in any way contributed to our present predicament as a country and legally punish them.
I have always been forced to imagine the outcome of this quagmire because government will soon be forced to pay for services not rendered, I have been to many ministries and parastatals recently only to find out that more than %80 of the offices remains closed, their reason is that their salaries have not been paid. The truth still remains that even when they are not at work, they must still be paid.
Now one will be left to imagine the effect of this none payment of salaries on the business environment more especially on states the are purely dominated by civil servants.
This is not the time to apportion blames but of finding real solutions to what now seems like perennial problem staring us in the face. Thank you

President Buhari,spare our lives

Without mincing words, the hangers around of Mr President should educate him on the need for having so many ministries in Nigeria. It is no news neither in Nigeria nor in any part of the world that the civil service is a means by which a government engages her people so as to reduce unemployment. They have never justified their pay anywhere in the world but they must be there and even increase by the day. I don’t know where Mr President got the idea of reducing Nigeria’s work force when we are seriously faced with an unequalled rate of unemployment. This thought of Mr President should be jettisoned. What he should be thinking of now should be on how to create a conducive working environment for investors and their businesses to thrive. I have always maintained that corruption is socially and not biologically conceived. Nigerians have suffered enough in what we called capitalism which in a simple word is government stealing from her people, now we need to try a little of socialism which in our context should be, government giving to her people. PMB should please come out of his comfort, royal and bourgeoisie position to the level where he can relate and feel the pulse of his people. We are fed with all these threats on our lives. One of the cardinal responsibilities of a responsive government is to provide for her people and not to threaten their sources of livelihood. The inconsistencies in our government policies is denying this country a lot, no serious business man or institution will want to have any dealings with such government. Today we are placing a ban on rice; tomorrow the ban is lifted without any concern on those who ventured into rice planting because of the government policy. Please like I said earlier, let Mr. President  kill the thought or idea of merging or closing any ministry, we have more than enough to get all Nigerians comfortable, that our leaders messed up our country should not be a reason why the common Nigerian should pay with his/her blood,  all he has to do is to set up strong institutions to ensure that every money spent in this country is justifiably accounted for and anyone found guilty of corruption or stealing is meant to face the wrath of the law not minding how highly placed he/she is. Thank you
